ABOUT:
Noah and Ramin were unlikely high school friends, but lost touch after graduation.
Freshly heartbroken and looking to reinvent himself, Ramin travels to Italy hoping to enjoy the scenery and have a carefree time.
Meanwhile, Noah is blindsided when his ex-wife states she wants to move to Italy and potentially take their son with her. She suggests a family vacation.
Then suddenly these two find themselves in the same gelato shop in Milan and find themselves rekindling a flame neither realized stilll exists.
MY THOUGHTS:
Oh how I adored this book. The swoon , the spice, the realistic depiction of everything that happens before and after intimacy.
Why am I typically not a fan of “lessons” I felt the spice here was both educational for the reader and for Noah as he explored his bisexual identity. I especially appreciated the frank way he approached the messier sides of sex.
Ramin and Noah both have complicated back stories that were revealed through dual timelines and dual point of views. There were some finer details that I wish I did more flushed out, especially in relation to Noah‘s parents and Ramin’s body morphinism. However, overall, I feel we got the depths we needed to understand their pain.
Finally, this book truly felt like a vacation from the wines to the foods to the train through Italy. I felt like I was traveling right along with them.
AUDIO:
Corvin King and Vikas Adam bring this fun book to life. Their voices offer district narration that easily allowed the listener to follow the changing point of views and dual timelines.
