The Heiress

3.5
Read this book completely blind with no clue what things were about. Essentially, Camden was adopted by a rich family who he left behind following the matriarch, Ruby’s death and now is returning home to the manor/ scene of his childhood. Weaved in is the matriarch herself who letters tell us the story of her life. The character development was great and you knew they were hiding secrets which kept me turning pages. My biggest struggle was waiting the action to start happening. Additionally, I felt the character of Libby was completely useless. The twists at the end were unexpected (for me at least) and Hawkins kept me on my toes to the end. I pictured this house as run down creepy Biltmore
